Single Phase Jog System Control Methods

Method 1 - Single Phase Momentary Jog Controls Diagram

  • As the motor turns the actuator the feedback device output changes.
  • The controller reads the output from the feedback devices and displays the actuator position on the HMI
  • HMIs can display positions of multiple devices on one screen

  • Controllers can accept 4 – 20 mA, 0 – 10 VDC, and pulse type inputs.
  • Common feedback devices are linear sensors, potentiometers, and incremental encoders

Method 2 - Single Phase Maintained Jog Controls Diagram

  • As the motor turns the actuator the feedback device output changes.
  • The panel meter reads the output from the feedback device and displays the position of the actuator

  • Panel meters can accept 4 – 20 mA, 0 – 10 VDC, and pulse type inputs.
  • Panel meters come in AC or DC powered models.
  • Each feedback device requires its own panel meter
