The History of STAHL CraneSystems

STAHL CraneSystems traces its beginnings back to 1876 when Rafael Stahl and Gustav Weineck founded a mechanical workshop in Stuttgart, Germany. After Weineck's death, Stahl's sons joined the company and in 1893, designed and built the first manual lift. From there, the company would go on to build and produce the first explosion-protected electrical lifting product, serving as one of the only German suppliers of the product for many years.

In 1944, production for the company is moved to Künzelsau, and in 1979 the company opened its first subsidiary in the United States. STAHL CraneSystems joined the Columbus McKinnon family in 2017 and today specializes in the design and production of high-quality hoists and crane components.
