Children Set a New Standard of Safety for Global Lifting in 2021

Announcing the 2021 Columbus McKinnon Safety Calendar

by Jessica Mancini | Dec 17, 2020

If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that safety is a community effort. By sharing knowledge and practicing safety throughout our lives – at work, at home, and with our children – we can ensure our own health and the safety of those around us.

Looking out at 2021, we greet a transformed industry landscape. Safety has become a pivotal focus, from COVID-19 precautions and automated lifting technology, safety has taken center stage.

In the spirit of Columbus McKinnon's new safety value and safe industry and community practices, we held a Safety Calendar Contest, asking the children and grandchildren of our global associates to submit drawings on the theme of “Safety at Work, Home or Play.”

The response was inspiring. Children all around the world sent in drawings of what safety means to them and their families. The contest received submissions from children across the globe including Austria, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, China, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

Safety as a Core Value

We are selling copies for charity on our training website that you can access here. Columbus McKinnon has partnered with Kids' Chance, donating 100% of calendar proceeds to scholarships for children affected by a parent's work-related injury or death.

If we all do our part in spreading safety best practices and designing the safest products, we reduce the number of families impacted by work-related injuries.

About Kids' Chance

When a worker is severely injured or killed on the job, it doesn’t just affect them – it affects their entire family. Thinking about the future is put off, and when the time comes, the cost of higher education can be well out of reach. Kids’ Chance state organizations provide scholarships to children of workers who have been seriously or fatally injured on the job.
